There were 44 meals served at the Orient Meal Site Kick Off on January 19th at the former Rainbow Junction pre school building. This included three home deliveries. City workers, the mayor and city council members spent several hours sprucing up the vacant building. Some floor covering removal, plumbing and heating repairs and replacement, and a fresh coat of paint added up to an inviting place for a nice hot meal and lots of visiting. Many good comments and plans to attend regularly were expressed among the satisfied customers after the complimentary "get acquainted" noon meal. Meals will be served on Tuesday and Thursday of each week. It will be appreciated if reservations would be made by the afternoon of the day before you plan to have a meal. You may also put your name on a permanent list for meals and call to cancel of you won't need a meal. Volunteers will be needed to serve, pour coffee, and clean up. So don't forget to call Verlene at 337-5369, mornings or evenings for reservations or to volunteer! Come join in for good food and fellowship.
