ORIENT PUBLIC LIBRARY

The "school masot" for Orient-Macksburg is the Bulldog.  School colors are red and white.

Enrollment - O-M, Pre-K - 12, is housed at one location.  There are 321 students.  There is an elementary wing, a middle school level, and a high school level.  All three grade levels share the following rooms: two gyms, weight room, lunchroom and art.

Academics - O-M offers traditional courses.  The high-school students share college prep and tech classes with Creston Community High School.  This has worked well for our students.  Juniors and SEniors are given the opportunity to take post-secondary classes (General & Tech Prep) through Southwestern Community College in Creston.  Sprecial circumstances have been given for some Freshman and Sophomores.

Sports - O-M offers all major sports on site and/or share with Creston.  If we do not offer the sport at O-M, we have a sharing agreement with Creston Schools for football, tennis, bowling, and golf and we also have a sharing agreement with Nodaway Valley in Greenfield for soccer.

Technology - O-M has a computer ratior of 1:1 in the Junior High and High School grades.  There is a computer lab in the library and three mobile labs for students to use.  O-M is a wireless school.

The Library is located at the Southeast entrance of the Orient-Macksburg Community School.
